Organized in 1932, Humane Society of Ventura County is formed by a group of dedicated animal lovers. A benefactor named Sara Bayless donated over 4.4 acres of property to house the new Shelter of Humane Society. Every year, Humane Society receives over 400 reports of abuse and neglect of animals. The organization believes that education and monitoring of pet’s families will be a great help in promoting its advocacy. Spay and Neuter Clinic, a branch of Humane Society, was started in 1986. This department has been responsible for altering 15-20 dogs, cats and other animals per day. Humane Society is thankful to its volunteers. It has loyal volunteers who help in organizing, fund raising and other kinds of support for the organization. The organization is looking for more cheerful, positive and hopeful people who could help in advocating Humane Society’s cause. Supporting the animals can be done in many ways. A donor can make a donation using PayPal or Network for Good. One can also choose to become a friend of the Humane Society of Ventura County. A person can leave a legacy through planned giving.
