Queens Centers for Progress (QCP) is composed of people working together for the promotion of independence of individuals with developmental disabilities. The services of QCP include education, therapy, job training and placement, day programs, advocacy, service, coordination, housing and other support services which would help people with developmental abilities to maximize their potentials and lead fuller lives. The organization was founded by a group of parents who were concerned that there was a lack of services offered for children with disabilities. It started with providing and therapeutic services to few children. Today, the services of QCP have expanded which transformed the organization into a leading major provider of services. There are many ways to help QCP. QCP has family Support Services which help families of children with physical disabilities. A person can volunteer for the organization or give donations. Donations can be monetary or in kind. In kind donations include cars, toys and other useful things. Car donations are tax deductible. Information can be submitted online for car donations. Aside from donations, QCP is also supported by United Way and Community Health Charities of NY.
