Women’s Crisis Support (WCS)

Women’s Crisis Support (WCS) envisions a community that is free from domestic violence and sexual assault. The mission of the organization is to end violence by providing intervention and prevention services. WCS was founded in 1977. Through the years, it has evolved from catering to rape victims to helping women in crisis in general. Each year, WCS helps an average of 1500 victims. The organization accepts volunteers who could be designated to any of the following divisions: crisis line volunteer; volunteer court advocate; sexual assault response team; support group volunteer; children support group; program volunteer; community education; and, awareness months activities. However, direct service to clients requires that the volunteers have undergone the training provided by WCS. Those who directly assist and give support to the beneficiaries should be certified by the state as State-Certified Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Peer Counselor. Donations for Women’s Crisis Support can be done on their website. The donor only has to fill out the information sheet available online. Aside from this form of donation, the organization has partnered with America’s Car Donation Center for vehicle donations.
